It was 1961, and I was a telegram boy working out of high cross in South Tottenham.
My dad had carried me on his shoulders through the turnstiles when I was little, and had told me he had watched Spurs in 1921. Then, at sixteen, with the other lads we were crowded around a radio listening to the FA Cup final - and Spurs won the double.
I was lucky, the first load of greetings telegrams in the satchel, I rode a red BSA down a Tottenham High Road on which people were starting to congregate and, the closer to the ground I got, the more people there were.
IT WAS MAGIC!!! and I delivered the first load of telegrams to the ground on that day. You dont forget the celebrations as the team brought the cup home, more people wore shredded wheat boxes on their heads than hats.
So I've seen some greats, Blanchflower, John White, Maurice Norman, Cliff Jones, Greavesy, Gilzean, Venables, Mullery, so many, and Hoddle and Waddle and, of course, that brilliant idiot Gazza.
Now my son is as fanatical as I am, and I'm working on my grandsons - even though their fathers are Liverpool supporters. Hope my son has a son soon, to be certain of the line continuing. But more than that, lets have one more double, im 58 and the clocks ticking!!!
