Sandro played his part in Brazil's equaliser after Honduras took an early lead, winning possession at the start of the move that led to Hulk squaring for Leandro Damiao to slide home.
However, Sandro was substituted in the 42nd minute with the score at 1-1.
Honduras - down to 10 men in the first half and later nine men - went 2-1 up but goals from Neymar and another from Damiao saw them home.
They face Team GB's conquerors South Korea at Old Trafford on Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm.
Giovani dos Santos maintained his fine form in the competition by setting-up Mexico's first goal against Senegal and then hitting the crucial third in extra time after the Africans came from 2-0 down to level at 2-2.
Gio's early free-kick was glanced home by Jorge Enriquez and when Javier Aquino made it 2-0 in the second half, it looked all over.
However, Senegal rallied with two quickfire goals to take the game into extra time.
Gio capitalised on a defensive mistake to fire Mexico into a 3-2 lead eight minutes into extra time and Hector Herrera secured a 4-2 win.
