I had only played for the reserves but I was sure I was ready to play. I didn't know how long I would be able to play, but I had worked for eight months and I felt ready to come back. You have a feel when you believe you can play again.
The manager and the people know me and when I am playing, I will give everything.
You need the foundation to be able to do that and I had that already, to play 60, 70 minutes of football at a high tempo for the reserves last week and in a practice match.
It was important to hit back after Saturday and I have to compliment the team.
I thought we played well from the first whistle and in the end we could have score more goals. Congratulations to Cardiff as well though, they were strong and tried to play football. I'm sure they will go a long way.
To come back and win, a clean sheet and a good performance, everything is wonderful.
Even more special were the fans. They were absolutely great. They pushed me from the warm-up and that was special for me. I'd like to say thanks for that.
What can I say? Last night was such a special and perfect night for me to be back after eight months for the first Worthington Cup game against Cardiff, a good team and almost 25,000 supporters in the stadium, wonderful support. I'm back in my living room now and I feel so happy.
