Obika fires U18s to win

Jon Obika struck the only goal of the game as our Under-18s toppled Crystal Palace in the FA Premier Academy League.

The striker (pictured right) was in the right place at the right time to finish after good work from Adam Smith and Dean Parrett.

The victory means the lads remain unbeaten in league action with two wins and three draws from their opening five matches.

Coach Alex Inglethorpe reported: "We were up against a strong, physical and well-organised Palace team and we had the lion's share of possession.

"We had a lot of good intentions and we were brave in our approach play in that we wanted to continue playing out from the back and starting possession from the goalkeeper.

"We created a lot of chances and should have scored more but we ended up with the one goal and a clean sheet.

"We scored after 65 minutes when Adam Smith and Dean Parrett made good progress down the right, cut the ball back and Jon Obika was there to apply the finish.

"That was very pleased because we'd spoken to Jon at half-time about being in the right areas to score and he did just that."

Spurs U18s: Butler, Smith, Byrne, Hutchins, Caulker, C Butcher, Parrett, Kasim, Olsen, Mason, Obika. Unused subs: Dalton, Nicholson, Asajile, Ekim, Cox.
