NY game a real kick for Special Olympians

Our recent match against New York Red Bulls proved a significant occasion for two US Special Olympics athletes.

Alex Scheck and Tim Rowland, representing New Jersey and New York respectively, participated in a "first kick" of the Barclays New York Football Challenge.

Back in September last year the Club became the first British Global Team Ambassador for Special Olympics, building on the success of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation's works with Special Olympics Great Britain.

The "first kick" aimed to raise awareness of the Special Olympics movement and the Special Olympics USA National Games that took place in Nebraska.

Alex and Tim are both keen sportsman and are involved with Special Olympics football projects in New Jersey and New York.
