The lads were desperately unlucky to come away without reward from title favourites Charlton that night after one of the best displays of the season.
They were worthy of at least a draw but a late own goal condemned them to a 2-1 defeat at The Valley.
After the frustration of a late postponement against Coventry at Stevenage last week, they now travel to Fratton Park and Pompey in the Barclays Premier Reserve League South.
Sean Davis continues his comeback from injury and is joined in the squad by the likes of Noe Pamarot, Dean Marney, Rohan Ricketts and Mark Yeates.
Clive said: "We've had to look back two weeks to Charlton where the performance was excellent yet the result disappointing.
"I've said to the lads even though it's two weeks on we need to play to that level. We've set our standards.
"That performance was up there with the best this season. I thought we deserved a result, we didn't get it, that's hard to take but it's the game.
"It's all about how we bounce back. Hopefully we'll play as well and if we do, we'll win more games than we lose."
Clive Allen will ask his reserves to pick up where they left off a fortnight ago when they return to action at Portsmouth tonight.
