No op for Naybet

Posted on 19 April 2005  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The Club would like to set the record straight and make it quite clear that stories claiming Noureddine Naybet has undergone surgery and will miss the rest of the season are completely untrue.

There is clearly some confusion with Noe Pamarot who has undergone surgery on his knee and will be out for some time.

Indeed, contrary to those reports, coach Chris Hughton told in his team news yesterday that Naybet was approaching fitness again after a hamstring problem.

Chris explained: “Noureddine is close but we don't think he'll quite be ready for West Brom.”

Noureddine, 35, has suffered from hamstring problems but has still managed to start 30 of our 43 matches in all competitions this season.

He said this afternoon: “This is a surprise to me! I’ve had a number of calls from home asking me if I’m okay. All I can say is that I’ve trained this week, I feel okay and I will be ready to play soon.”
