Our England international defender missed out on all our pre-season work after suffering a hip injury out jogging.
Much to his delight and as reported on this website, he made a return to the training fold this week and was involved in eight-a-side games but boss Glenn Hoddle reported that the problem had stiffened up again.
Glenn explained: "Ledley hasn't really done anything in pre-season. He's done this week's training but still feels a little discomfort.
"Unfortunately he's had a little jolt backwards, nothing major. He's been training fine but overnight he came in it had stiffened up, so we have to be a bit careful on that one.
"We've got to rest him for a few more days. It's a blow for us. He needs to overcome the injury and then get himself fit."
Ledley King has suffered 'a little jolt backwards' in his quest to regain full fitness.
