Clive's side have already won the southern section of the Barclays Premiership Reserve league and now have three games to complete the season before taking on the winners of the northern league in a play-off final.
It is for this reason as much as anything that the Development Coach views it as vital there is no tapering off over the next few weeks.
"That is right, now it is a case of looking ahead to the end of season play-off game and in effect it will be like a cup final for the lads," said Clive. "That's the motivation now and now we are champions everyone is going to want to beat us, not only in the last few games of the season but next season as well.
"It is a slightly different experience for everyone in that as champions you don't want to slip up. We have three games to go, with one after that which we are hyping up as our cup final.
"The momentum we have built up and the way we have gone about the games has been excellent and we have just got to maintain that. It is another little challenge for the lads to cope with over the next few weeks.
"We want to keep the winning formula going, the atmosphere has been excellent and the way they have approached it has been superb. We've set ourselves high standards and we've got to keep going right to the end.
"The most disappointing thing for me would be if results tailed off the season faded, even though it has been a successful one."
Clive Allen insists there will be no let up in the push for points when our reserve side travel to Bromley FC to take on Crystal Palace tonight, kick-off 7pm.
