Teemu Tainio was left to rue missed opportunities after the White Hart Lane stalemate against Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Finn was denied on three occasions - twice by the heroics of Villa keeper Thomas Sorensen - as the visitors held firm to secure another point on their travels. We remain in fourth position in the Premiership standings, but Teemu regrets the chance of creating a little cushion was not taken.

"I am very disappointed, we needed those three points and had many chances without getting a goal," sighed the midfielder.

"I have to say their keeper played a terrific game though."

"They defended well and stayed deep in the second half. We created some chances but didn't really play as well as we wanted to.

"It is not easy when the other team play so deep, but we created chances and didn't score so we must be very disappointed."

Teemu hobbled off in stoppage time with an ankle problem which will be assessed today.

"I twisted my ankle, but hopefully it won't be a big problem and I will be back training soon."
