The Irish star will look for another marauding display down the right flank as we attempt to improve our disappointing away record this season of a draw and six defeats in seven games.
We last won at Old Trafford in 1989 and Carr is all-too aware of the air of invincibility around the champions but he declared: "We have to respect them but not fear them too much.
"If you let them come at you you’ll get murdered, simple as that. They have great quality in midfield and up front, the movement is brilliant and you’ll get punished if you let them come on to you all the time.
"Everyone knows it will be a difficult task but you have to enjoy the challenge of playing at Old Trafford in front of 67,000.
"We’ve won two games on the trot and we’ll go there confident. People will question our away form again but no-one will expect us to get a result. The pressure is on them and we’ll try to enjoy it but we’ll only enjoy it if we get a decent result.
"We won’t be over confident though. Everyone knows how tough a place Old Trafford is to get a result but there is no reason why we can’t.
"The one thing is though we cannot sit back and let them come onto us — it’s game over if we do that."

Stephen Carr insists we have to forget any fear factor when we travel to Manchester United on Saturday.
