Draws in the games against Sunderland and Wigan were responded to in what was a positive beginning when Mark Hughes' side arrived at the Lane, but a two-goal advantage was cancelled out by Rovers before Mido scored the goal which saw three points added to our Premiership account.
"We were all pumped up before the game and I think you could tell that at the start," the skipper looked back. "Maybe we were a bit too pumped up and perhaps needed to calm down a little at times in the first half and get hold of the ball a bit more. We were just eager to get out there and do what we do best - play with a high tempo at home.
"To concede the goal before half-time was disappointing because we knew they would come at us in the second half with a bit extra. Fair play to them, they played well and looked a really good side.
"We will take the three points and continue our journey now."
Ledley was not happy with either of the Blackburn goals, but could see the funny side when asked if he was following his pre-match superstitions in the right order...
"It happens in football and you can't go a season or through your career without making mistakes," he reasoned.
"With the second I kind of lost my balance in mid-air and, with the first goal, Bellamy got in behind me down the wing. That will happen in games, we got punished twice and will move on now although I am disappointed from my point of view.
"I always go over things in my head, but I know when it comes to the Chelsea game I will be alright.
"I can be superstitious and have a few rituals I go through. I'm going to have to check them over now and make sure there is nothing I am missing out!!"
Ledley King says we will 'continue our journey' at Chelsea following our return to winning ways against Blackburn Rovers last time out.
