That desire was certainly palpable at Hotspur Way last week after the goalless draw at Burnley and home loss to Villa in the two outings before travelling to Tyneside on Sunday.
Goals from Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen and Harry’s 30th of the campaign made sure we returned to winning ways at St James’ Park.
In control for long periods, we recovered from a jolt as Villa levelled Nacer’s opener within 20 seconds of the second half as Christian curled home a free-kick for 2-1 on 52 minutes and Harry made the game safe in added time.
“We needed this win,” said Harry. “We had two disappointing results in the last couple of weeks and we had to put it right.
“Newcastle is no easy place to come to but we played well, kept the ball well, created chances and deserved to win.
“They put us on the back foot straight away in the second half. That was disappointing from our point of view but it shows our character that we went again, got the second and finished it off with the third.
“We knew Villa wasn’t good enough last week and we don’t just want the season to fizzle out with a few losses.
“We trained hard and knew we had to put it right.
“We played well and deserved to win.”
