Reserve striker Lee Barnard today signed a new contract with the club.
Top scorer for the second-string this season with six goals, Lee's progress was rewarded recently with a place on the substitute's bench for the Premiership encounter with Charlton at the Valley.
The Academy product, who signed professional forms at the club in July 2002, spent a month on loan last season at Exeter City and made his league debut against Boston United.
"I am delighted to have extended my contract," said Lee this afternoon. "I have been at the club since I was ten and the next step for me is to push on and try and get into the first team."
Lee was absent for Monday's reserve defeat against Arsenal with a groin strain, but he returned to training today and should be available for next week's game against Nottingham Forest at Stevenage (Monday, kick-off 7pm).
