NEW CLUB TRAINING FACILITY - UPDATE - REVISED PLANS - YOUR NEW SUPPORT IS VITAL!

Posted on 13 June 2006  - 12:00

The Club recently presented its revised designs to councillors and Enfield residents. A clear message from the Council officers is that this is being treated as a completely new application - and, as such, none of the letters of support written for the first application apply and new letters of support are needed.

The Club recently presented its revised designs to councillors and Enfield residents. A clear message from the Council officers is that this is being treated as a completely new application - and, as such, none of the letters of support written for the first application apply and new letters of support are needed.

We were very grateful for your letters of support to the council for the previous application - indeed these outnumbered the opposition by at least three to one. Now that we have made this new revised application we need to ask for your invaluable help in submitting letters of support once again.

In short, the revisions are as follows:

The Club’s discussions with Enfield and the GLA identified the need for design revisions to the main building, while the community consultation identified that the key concern was the impact of the Club’s Community Partnership Facility plans on Bulls Cross Open Space.

The main changes include:

- Improvements to the overall design of the First Team and Academy Training Centre
- Improvements to the layout of the training centre making better use of the space allowing for a reduction in the overall area of the building by 2810m2
- Making the facility ‘greener’ through the use of renewable energy and more efficient water use and recycling
- The Club has listened to local concerns and is no longer proposing to build on the Bulls Cross Open Space and is committed to delivering a £2million major community programme for the Borough of Enfield that will benefit thousands of local school children through the provision of first class sport and learning opportunities

Whilst we know the plans have been positively received by a majority of residents, it is important that we ensure that the Council understands the strength of support for our revised plans.

Please write. Your letter will count.

If you live in Enfield, on the fringes of the Borough, a regular visitor to the Borough or have experienced our community-based activities and support the Club’s plans, then please write - quoting the reference TP/06/0735 – to
