The vasty-experienced defender with a host of Champions League football under his belt and over 100 caps for Morocco spoke to the press after Monday night's match at Aston Villa.
That was our sixth successive loss in the Barclays Premiership and Noureddine was quoted as saying 'this is a moment of crisis'.
But Noureddine said this evening: "I'm very angry with the journalist involved because crisis is a word I would never use.
"I’m annoyed at the misinterpretation of my comments. Maybe this is what happens when the translation goes from French to English.
“The point I was making was that yes, we are having a bad spell and it is the worst run of my career but we are capable of turning it around.
“We have a new coach, a new system and new players and it was only our second game together.
“We know it’s important not to lose our confidence and we need to work harder and stay together. All of us players realise this.
"We've played better in our last two games, our heads are staying up and I'm sure a win isn't far away."
Noureddine Naybet has set the record straight following reports quoting him saying that the club was in crisis.
