Nacer Chadli celebrated his century in fine style at Colchester.

The in-form Belgian lined-up for his 100th appearance for us in all competitions in the FA Cup fourth round tie at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

And it was Nacer’s day. He opened the scoring, headed home the third, set-up the fourth goal for Tom Carroll, was denied a hat-trick by the crossbar, had seven shots at goal in total and an 85% pass completion rate. He clinched our fans' Man of the Match vote with 69% of over 12,000 votes cast.

Not a bad day’s work!

“I’m very happy we won, happy to score two goals and now we go through to the next round, so that’s great,” he said.

“We started well, created chances and dominated but we couldn’t score easily. It wasn’t an easy game and we did well with the win.

“They came back into the game at 1-0 but I felt we still had control and that was important.”

As for reaching his Spurs century, Nacer simply added: “It’s a great day for and I want to play more.”

Norwich are next up as we return to Premier League action at Carrow Road on Tuesday night (February 2, 7.45pm).

“It’s never easy to play away but we’re in great form, playing with a lot of confidence and I think the group is ready for the game,” added Nacer. “We focus on every game and we’re mentally prepared.”
