Sergio Aguero finished off a swift counter attack to net the only goal of the game just before the half-hour mark at White Hart Lane.
We’d gone close on several occasions before that through Nacer Chadli, Eric Dier and Harry Kane, while Ryan Mason beat the off-side trap – only to be thwarted by City goalkeeper Joe Hart.
The visitors might have extended their lead after the break, while we continued to knock on the door through Kane, Erik Lamela and Paulinho.
Ultimately we came away empty-handed, with Nabil hoping we can learn from the match as we head to Stoke City next weekend.
“It was a difficult game, we persevered and played really well and we deserved better than a defeat,” said the central midfielder.
“We should have taken our chances before their goal but we didn’t and we have to use that as a lesson now.
“We move onto the next game, Stoke away, and we’ll look to put things right. It’s going to be another tough game but we’ll recover from this latest setback and be ready to give our all again.”
