Nabil looking to marshal the midfield

Nabil Bentaleb anticipates a tough midfield battle at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

With combatants like Glenn Whelan, Steven Nzonzi and Charlie Adam in their side, Stoke City are sure to be a tough nut to crack as we bid to avenge the 2-1 defeat we suffered at White Hart Lane back in November.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, energetic midfielder Nabil is relishing the possibility of a fierce battle in the centre of the pitch as we look to return to winning ways after last weekend’s narrow home loss to Manchester City.

“We know Stoke are a really strong side and we have to be on it on Saturday,” warned the Algeria international.

“They have qualities in central midfield and we have to be on our toes and make sure we battle.

“We have to impose our style, take charge of the game and take control in all areas of the pitch. This is going to be key for us to keep the ball.”

Our trip to the Potteries is followed by a home match against Hull City and a final day trip to Everton as the Premier League season draws to a close.

Nabil for one is keen to ensure we finish with a flourish and is looking to take nine points out of nine over the next couple of weeks.

“It’s going to be tough this weekend, but it’s as important as any other game,” he added.

“We know it’s a difficult test for us, but we have to finish the season well. We have three games left and we have to give everything in those games – that starts from Stoke.”
