Apart from training, what will you do on Christmas Day?
Some members of my family will be coming over to the house, but we won’t be doing too much – I’ll probably just rest because we have the game on Boxing Day!
How does this differ from past Christmases for you?
When I was in Spain and Holland, we had some free time so it’s different in that respect, but it’s a nice thing in England to play over the festive period. Whereas previously I’d have a holiday, this year I’ll obviously be concentrating on the games that we have.
What is traditional at Christmas in Belgium?
Most of the time it’s just about eating with the family, being together and opening presents. It’s quite similar to being here in England, although some families open their presents on Christmas Eve instead of on Christmas Day. Maybe in other families it’s different but, for us, we’ve traditionally met up with one side of the family on Christmas Eve and then invited the other part of the family over on Christmas Day.
What is your favourite festive meal?
The traditional turkey with some vegetables, followed by a nice dessert!
What do you wish for at Christmas?
I wish for another year full of health and happiness for me and my family.
What was your most memorable gift as a child?
It was an old Nintendo games console. It was very nice because we didn’t have a lot of presents when I was younger so we always had to wait for Christmas to get something big. I was very, very happy with the Nintendo – I would often play Mario Kart on it all day!
