Mum's the word

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Jamie Slabber is having no problems keeping his feet on the ground - his mum and dad see to that.

It's been quite a month for the young striker. He opened his account for the reserves, made his Premiership debut against Liverpool, scored again for the reserves and held onto his place on the bench for Monday's televised encounter at Bolton.

It could all go to an 18-year-old's head, but Jamie insists his mum Pauline and dad Trevor will make sure that doesn't happen.

So how's he coping? "It's all going right for me at the moment and I've just got to keeping doing what I'm doing," he said.

"To be honest, my mum and dad keep my feet on the ground.

"They've just told me to being myself and don't change for anyone. My family and friends certainly keep my feet on the ground. My mates slaughter me as well but my family is always there for me.

"It's a massive step up but you've got great players around you that help you all the way.

"The manager and coaches give you good advice all the time, always helping and the squad have been great. It's nice to have them there to guide me."
