We're four friendlies into our busy schedule and travel to QPR on Sunday having secured a 2-1 win at Gillingham on Saturday.
The outstanding Gus Poyet bagged both goals at Priestfield Stadium and made it four wins out of four.
But preparations have so far been without World Cup trio Teddy Sheringham, Christian Ziege and Kasey Keller while the likes of Les Ferdinand, Ledley King, Anthony Gardner, Tim Sherwood and Steve Clemence have not been risked with minor knocks.
Indeed, we were without Les, Teddy and Sergei Rebrov up front at Gillingham so Steffen Iversen was able to build on his hour at Bournemouth on Thursday and youngster Lee Barnard got another start under his belt.
Glenn revealed that Sergei was unlikely to figure at QPR this afternoon.
He said: "Sergei picked up a kick at Bournemouth on Thursday which hasn't settled down enough, so he won't be performing at QPR.
"We might play with Gary Doherty up front. We're dovetailing at the moment and just trying to get through matches for fitness levels.
"Pre-season hasn't been too bad, we're quietly pleased at the moment, not too pleased down at Bournemouth but we haven't gone anywhere near what our starting line-up will be.
"We've got the young lads in to give them the experience but we haven't got down to the serious end of pre-season yet, let alone the season."
Glenn Hoddle insists we haven't got down to the serious end of pre-season yet.
