MP joins calls to knight Bill

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Tottenham MP David Lammy has added his voice to the call to have Bill Nicholson knighted.

Mr. Lammy, Tottenham-born and a life-long Spurs fan, has promised to do what he can to support the campaign which also has the full backing of the club.

Bill, our Club President, is "Mr Tottenham" to every Spurs fan following his glorious years as player and manager at the Club. He set so many records and has done so much for Spurs and football in general that he is already an OBE.

Supporters showed their love for the great man when a near capacity crowd watched his testimonial game against Fiorentina at the Lane in August. And now they hope to be calling him "Sir Bill" before too long.

"I will certainly lend my support to a most worthy campaign," says Mr. Lammy. "Bill certainly deserves the accoclade for all his wonderful work over a lifetime devloted to Tottenham Hotspur."
