Paul Robinson was happy to quickly turn attentions to Wednesday night’s FA Cup replay against Cardiff after Sunday’s disappointments against Newcastle. We dominated against Newcastle, led twice but were left stunned by a 3-2 defeat in the Barclays Premiership at the Lane.

Robbo is keen to put that loss behind us and gets an immediate chance with the third round replay against the Championship side following the goalless draw in the initial tie at Ninian Park.

“I'm always pleased when there is a game quickly after a defeat,” stated England’s number one. “But it's not going to be easy on Wednesday.

“The cups mean a lot to us this season, we'll be putting out a full-strength team and hopefully we'll get a victory.”

Reflecting on Sunday’s reverse, Robbo was naturally disappointed. “With the amount of chances we created we should have won the game,” he added. “It was also disappointing to concede three goals at home.

“Some days it goes for you, others it doesn't and we had the chances, but didn't take them. It was disappointing but we have to move on to Cardiff now.”
