Jamie Redknapp tips Ledley King to go from strength to strength as he grows in stature as an England player.
The brilliant central defender has won rave reviews as an international since starting his first competitive game against France in the Euro 2004 opener. He has since started the friendly against Ukraine and the World Cup qualifiers against Austria and Poland.
All this is coupled with fine form at club level as Ledley has forged an excellent partnership with Noureddine Naybet in the opening weeks of the season, in which we have conceded just two goals.
"He is in great form and is a special player," said the skipper. "I think he has just grown and grown and grown since he got his England call-ups.
"When you get them it is make or break really, you think yes I can do this at this level or get a couple of caps and fall by the wayside. Ledley is just going to get better and better."
So do you feel that extra couple of inches taller when you know you've given a good account of yourself at international level?
"Of course you do, it is exciting to play for England and is a great honour. Ledley looks very strong. He has got such a good future, the same with Jermain and it is looking very good for the club at the moment."
