Chris Hughton insists the morale at the club remained intact through the tough times around Christmas.
Successive defeats saw us slip into the bottom three at the turn of the year but a 3-0 FA Cup win against Palace appeared to inject the confidence back into the side and we remain unbeaten in 2004 - we're now up to 11th in the Premiership.
Coach Chris reflected: "Right the way through it, the morale and spirit of the lads hasn't been that bad.
"You have period of ups and downs but it's been good all the way through and that's enabled us to have the confidence to believe we could go on a decent run.
"We knew we had the players and the ability to do that.
"There is a difference, of course, the Monday morning feeling has been better and when you win games, there is always a little more spring in the the step. That's not just players, that's everyone around the club."
