Moens at Spurs Lodge

Posted on 14 October 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Caretaker boss David Pleat reports that Dutch goalkeeper Oscar Moens has arrived at the club for a trial.

Capped twice by Holland, Moens has been released by AZ Alkmaar and we are looking at him as potential cover for Kasey Keller.

David explained: "He's had his registration released in Holland, Hans Segers is aware of his ability and we're having a look at him

"Unfortunately Shwan Jalal picked up a very bad injury last week and as a result, he's unlikely to play again this season.

"We only have three senior goalkeepers and that is slightly risky. Lars Hirschfeld went away with Canada last week, kept a clean sheet in his half although they lost against Finland, Rob Burch was with England U21s but wasn't called upon and Kasey Keller had a rest for once.

"They are our three goalkeepers and we need them at the top of their form and to stay fit."
