After scoring a hat-trick on Friday, Jermain Defoe had one of those nights in front of goal and was then injured as England beat Switzerland 3-1 in Euro 2012 qualifying on Tuesday night.
The hero against Bulgaria at Wembley, 'JD' impressed again up front but the ball just wouldn't fall for him as England dominated the first half in Basle.
He played his part in Wayne Rooney's opening goal on 10 minutes as he stepped over Glen Johnson's cross at the near post, allowing Rooney to convert from six yards.
Jermain then fired over another Johnson cross, just failed to connect with James Milner's centre six yards out and then saw his piledriver palmed out by Swiss keeper Diego Benaglio.
It looked like he was bound to add the second goal in the 45th minute when Rooney drew Benaglio and clipped a cross in that JD looked set to head into the empty net, only for defender Stephane Grichting to get back and flick the ball away.
Jermain was injured in the 68th minute and actually on the ground waiting for treatment when Adam Johnson scored the second goal.
JD was replaced by Darren Bent, who scored the third and decisive goal late on after Xherdan Shaqiri reduced the arrears with a spectacular strike for the home side.
We'll bring you further news of JD's injury as soon as we know more...
