The Danish playmaker did it in style - a 25-yard free-kick that rattled home off the underside of the crossbar to hand us the lead in the 36th minute.
Unfortunately, West Brom hit back straight away as Jonas Olsson finished from close range after we failed to clear Liam Ridgewell’s free-kick.
We dominated the second half with Christian looking to pull the strings from central midfield but despite our territorial advantage and 20 efforts at goal, we couldn’t find that elusive winning goal.
“I’m really happy to score my first goal in the Premier League but it would have been much better with a win,” admitted Christian.
“West Brom wanted a draw at least, certainly not to lose, got players behind the ball and we had to try to get through.
“We got through a couple of times and got around the sides and we had the chances to score, we were a little unlucky.
“First half was up and down, in the second half we had more control, we had the chances, but there wasn’t that much space. We had to do what we could with and without the ball.
“We gave everything and we have to keep going - and hopefully I’ll score a few more goals.”
