David Pleat conceded mistakes cost us dearly after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Bolton.
Kasey Keller was caught out by a nasty bounce as Ivan Campo's 25-yarder squeezed home for the opener after seven minutes and Anthony Gardner lost out to Henrik Pedersen as he slotted home the second goal after the break.
We upped our game in terms of possession in the second period but didn't really threaten and only carved out three half-chances throughout.
"I thought we responded in the second half and had a lot of the game but our final ball in one or two positions wasn't good enough," said David at the Reebok Stadium.
"At the end of the day you can analyse it as much as you want but two mistakes have cost us the game.
"We needed to safely get through the first 20 minutes against an aerial bombardment - I think that's fair - but we didn't, because we lost the first goal."
