"In the end, two fortunate second half strikes overcame Darren Anderton's early opener and, speaking back at the training ground, Ledley said the emotion is lingering disappointment.
"It is still disappointment really," said the 23-year-old. "We felt we played well enough and deserved to get something out of the game.
"Obviously we are quite content with the way that we played, but it was a great opportunity to beat Arsenal. They weren't at their best and, at the end of the day, it is an opportunity missed."
Such was the manner of performance for a long spell on the day, Ledley conceded that there would possibly have been some disappointment had the game ended all square.
"Maybe a little bit because we held them off quite well and for quite a long time. We were disappointed when they scored the first goal and the second was a huge blow for us.
"We have to move on now and look forward to the next game."
Ledley King reflected that the team just missed out on what was a great opportunity to beat Arsenal on Saturday.
