Mido insists the team must make our home games count as we enter the final six fixtures of the season.

Manchester City provide the opposition in the first of our last three home encounters and the striker believes the atmosphere at the Lane makes a big difference to the side, although he suspects patience might be called for in the attempt to break through the City defences.

"Of course, in home games you have more options to win and you can play more attacking football," said the Egyptian international. "Every game, home or away, is important and in every game we play to win - we hope hope we can do everything right to keep our position.

"The crowd plays a big role, they have been very good to us and will maybe need to be a little bit patient. Against West Brom we won in the last minute and goals can be scored in any minute.

"In the Premier League every team can win against each other so we do have to be patient.

"I have seen Manchester City's game with Middlesbrough and they did not play well and when a team is down they always try to react so it won't be easy for us," he added before saying the team are also desperate to repond to our own defeat last weekend.

"It was a big disappointment against Newcastle and I think when you concede a goal in the first minutes it is always difficult to come back. With the way we played, I don't think we did enough to win the game.

"This is a totally different game and we are playing at home. Manchester City are a good team and we managed a top performance against them in the away game, so we know how to play them and we will give everything because we know every game is vital now."
