The midfielder arrived at Spurs Lodge last week to begin the next chapter in his career and the striker took time out to offer his take on one of our two transfer window recruits.
"First of all I was very happy when I heard that Spurs had signed Ghaly," said Mido, who was away on African Cup of Nations duty when the deal was struck. "Not just because he is my friend, I really think that we have signed a great player with a good mentality as a professional.
"I think he can do a lot for Spurs and it is a top signing.
"Hossam is a strong lad in the middle of the park, he has a great technique, supplies good balls and is strong in the air. He is a very good player.
"People in Egypt will care even more about Spurs now we have a second Egyptian player."
Mido welcomed the signing of his international teammate Hossam Ghaly and believes the Club have made a shrewd move in the transfer market.
