The Egyptian star and French international full-back Pascal were full of smiles with boss Martin Jol as they were paraded in front of the cameras in our new PUMA kit.
Mido joins Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and another summer arrival and international, Dimitar Berbatov, in Martin Jol's four-pronged strikeforce.
He was quick to point out that four strikers is par for the course in football these days and necessary with us looking to progress in four competitions, including the UEFA Cup.
"This season we play European football and hopefully there will be many, many more matches, maybe 50 or more," said Mido. "If I can play 35 to 40 matches and score 20 goals, that will be a successful season for me.
"If you look at all the big clubs you will find they all have at least four strikers and that's what we have here.
"As you say in England, it keeps you on your toes. You want to play, want to prove yourself. This is normal now and we have to cope with that and know that we won't necessarily play every game.
"What's good about the strikers we have here is that each one is totally different. Jermain is totally different from Robbie, and Robbie is totally different from Dimitar.
"Dimitar and I are both target men but he is a totally different player from me so of course we can play together as well."
Asked if he thought Dimitar would handle the Premiership, Mido added: "I know Dimitar well. He is a very good striker, he did well in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen and has the experience to cope.
"I think it's a very good signing for us and you cannot find a lot of strikers in Europe who can play in England, I'm sure he'll do well."
Mido welcomed the competition up front as we unveiled him and new signing Pascal Chimbonda to the media on Thursday.
