The Egyptian striker had six months at AS Roma with Italian international defender Matteo Ferrari before joining us last season.
Ferrari, capped 11 times by the Azzurri, departed Rome for a loan spell at Goodison Park in the summer.
Mido, expected to be fit following a hamstring problem, expects Ferrari to be a hit on Merseyside.
He is a strong player on the right side of defence
"He's played international games for Italy, so he has that quality.
"He's a very good man, very quiet and he was unlucky at Roma, a lot of players were because Roma had a poor season. I'm sure he will develop more as the season goes on."
Mido will come up against a familiar face in the Everton ranks on Saturday.
