The pair doubled up again with the goals to topple Middlesbrough in Saturday's 2-0 win at the Lane after bagging one apiece at Portsmouth on the opening day.
They have hooked up well together with Jermain setting up both of Mido's goals so far and Mido returning the compliment at Portsmouth.
"It's not easy to find a player with Jermain's qualities," said the Egyptian star. "He can score from different positions, he's very fast with the ball and is always fighting for the team. He's a great lad as well."
Mido conceded there was a touch of fortune about his goal on Saturday as Middlesbrough keeper Mark Schwarzer allowed his gentle curler under his body.
"As a striker, you need to be lucky sometimes," he smiled. "We all worked hard, everyone fought for the team and sometimes when you work hard, you get your reward. That was my present.
"Middlesbrough are very organised and it's difficult to beat a team with that organisation. The midfield was fantastic, always pressing and it was a great result against a very good team."
Mido is relishing his strike partnership with Jermain Defoe - describing him as 'a fantastic player'.
