Michael Carrick has thanked the Spurs fans for their support at Portsmouth on Monday night.
The packed away end certainly gave him a warm welcome as the boos rang out around Fratton Park - a reaction to Michael's decision not to join Pompey in the summer.
Michael made his debut as a second half substitute having been sidelined with a ankle injury for the past few weeks.
"It was good to get out there and I got a good reception off the fans which was nice," said the midfielder.
"They made me feel welcome even though it was a frustrating night all round.
"That was good and hopefully I can give them something to shout about in the future. I have to be patient and when I get my chance I have to take it."
