The defender knows the Italian giants will be stung from the 3-0 defeat in the first leg of our Europa League, Round of 16 tie at the Lane last week.
We return to one of world football’s iconic arenas for the second leg knowing a valuable away goal will mean Inter have to score five times on the night to progress to the quarter-finals.
We played twice at the San Siro during our memorable run in the Champions League in the 2010-11 campaign, including Gareth Bale’s famous hat-trick in a 4-3 defeat to Inter in October, 2010.
But Inter raced into a 4-0 lead that night – albeit with the likes of the departed Sneijder and Eto’o on song and Heurelho Gomes sent off early – and Michael stressed that ‘we can’t take anything for granted’.
“We all know how tough it is in the San Siro and one thing is for sure, they won’t lie down,” said Michael.
“There is a lot of pride at stake and I’m sure they will be hurting after losing 3-0 like they did at the Lane. We have to be ready for that.
“We’re in a great position, don’t get me wrong and we now have to go there, do a professional job and if we do that, we’ll be okay. It won’t be a walk in the park though, that’s for sure.”
