Paul Robinson insists we're third in the Premiership on merit after our performances against Charlton, United and Arsenal.

We came from 2-0 down to beat Charlton 3-2 at the Valley in what was at the time a second against third clash, having beaten Everton at home and come from 1-0 down for a deserved point at Old Trafford.

Arsenal followed last Saturday and the first half performance has been seen by both Martin Jol and the rest of the squad as our best since Martin took over almost a year ago.

We led 1-0 at half-time having dominated but Arsenal hit back for a 1-1 draw that left everyone disappointed

"All 11 of us were at the races in that first half and they didn’t get a kick," he said. "We are just disappointed we couldn't maintain it. To make Arsenal look an ordinary side - which is exactly what we did in the first half - was a great achievement.

"The last few games have showed the character, strength and quality in the team and we deserve to be up there in the table.

"We said a couple of weeks ago that if we’re still up there after the United and Arsenal games then we’ll be there on merit. That’s where we are now."
