Mauricio on Serge's chances of featuring at Everton

Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t ruled out Serge Aurier’s chances of making his debut at Everton on Saturday.

However, the manager explained that it might be tough to throw the new arrival from PSG straight into Premier League action at Goodison Park after he only returned from international duty with Ivory Coast on Thursday afternoon.

“We need to assess him and see how he is because he played on Tuesday (for the Ivory Coast against Gabon, pictured above), travelled back to Paris today and now from France to London,” said Mauricio at Thursday’s press conference at Hotspur Way.

“It will be tough, but maybe he will be in contention…maybe. We’ll have to see today and tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Mauricio told reporters that Kieran Trippier is back to fitness after an injury sustained against Burnley on August 27 forced him out of England duty. “Kieran is good and ready to be available for Saturday,” he added.
