Mauricio Pochettino has called for renewed focus from the players in today’s (Sunday, October 25) match at Bournemouth.

Our Head Coach was left frustrated after we let slip an early lead and lost to Anderlecht in the Europa League in midweek.

Ahead of our return to Premier League duties on the south coast, Mauricio has emphasised how difficult a test we have in front of us this afternoon, kick-off 2.05pm.

But he wants the players to overcome Bournemouth’s threats and avoid a repeat of Thursday night’s result in Belgium in order to remain in and around the top places in the table.

“We need to learn from Thursday and we need to take that forward because Bournemouth is a very good team, a very aggressive team, they run a lot,” he said.

“We need to be positive and we need to be focused on us – Thursday was a clear, clear example. We need to be focused on our performance and the way that we play, be aggressive, work 100 per cent and always be focused in every single minute.

“We expect a very tough game but we need to start to win games in the Premier League to stay up the table.

“We are Tottenham, our responsibility is to play well and try to get the three points. It’s important how we play and how we are on the pitch.”
