Mauricio Pochettino was naturally disappointed with our 1-0 loss at West Brom.

We dominated from start to finish, particularly in terms of territory (almost 75% possession) but couldn’t crack a resolute West Brom side happy concede possession and defend deep in numbers.

Harry Kane, Victor Wanyama, Christian Eriksen and Fernando Llorente were all denied by Ben Foster.

West Brom worked tirelessly to deny us space but remained a threat from set-pieces and that’s how the game unfolded for us in the 92nd minute. Matt Phillips’ corner was met by Craig Dawson and former Spur Jake Livermore got the final touch from close range.

“I'm disappointed with the result,” said Mauricio. “We dominated, we had a lot of chances but if you don't score and you are not clinical in front of goal then a team like West Brom can create some chances from set-pieces and you can concede.

I think it's a little cruel but we need to accept it. In the end our performance wasn't enough, we lost and we cannot change the result now.

We complete our Premier League campaign with back-to-back home games at Wembley against Newcastle on Wednesday (8pm) and Leicester City on Sunday week (13 May, 3pm).

Two wins will secure a top four place and Champions League qualification for next season.

“We need to believe that we can finish the job in these next two games,” added Mauricio. “It's important to be confident and try to finish in a good way.”
