It was second against third in the Premier League, United four wins out of four at home, we were on a run of six straight away wins and as the game unfolded, you just felt one moment was going to decide it – and it went against us.
Just minutes after Dele Alli missed our best chance of the game, and having defended brilliantly throughout, we were undone by a route one goal on 81 minutes – David De Gea’s long kick flicked on by Romelu Lukaku and finished by Anthony Martial.
“I feel disappointed because the game was even and the performance was good, the effort was fantastic and I feel proud,” said Mauricio.
“It’s painful but we have to keep going and Wednesday we have another big game.
“We should be talking in a different way. Dele missed the chance we had and then maybe it would have been 1-0 to us and the result would be different. Football is about small details and when the game is even, small, small things can change everything. That’s football and we have to accept it.
“I’m disappointed because the players made a lot of effort to win the game and I feel bad for them, the effort was fantastic. We need to learn and try to improve.”
