Swansea 0-3 Spurs - Mauricio's reaction

Sat 17 March 2018, 19:05|Tottenham Hotspur

Our commanding performance against Swansea ticked all the boxes for Mauricio Pochettino as we progressed in style to the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday.

We dominated from start to finish in a 3-0 win and but for one scare at the start of the second half – where Michel Vorm produced a dynamic double save to deny the home team– we were in complete control.

Christian Eriksen struck a beauty to open the scoring on 11 minutes, Erik Lamela curled home for 2-0 in first half added time and Christian was there again on 62 minutes with a low drive to put the issue beyond doubt. Christian now has eight goals in 10 matches against the Swans.

“It was a fantastic performance,” said Mauricio. “We were clinical, we dominated, we had possession, we created chances, everything.

"Michel’s save at the start of the second half was massive for us but it was the only chance they created.

“The team played so well, 3-0…we deserved more. I'm happy with how we dominated and how we managed the game. We showed great maturity.

“It keeps a very good momentum for us. The squad is working so hard and sometimes it’s difficult for a manager to be fair with everyone and give everyone the possibility to play, but that is football.

“I'm very pleased for the players and the fans. It's important to go to the semi-finals and to have the possibility to fight for the trophy.”
