We face a 3pm kick-off at Vicarage Road after beating Norwich City 3-0 at the Lane on Boxing Day.
Asked about the key to being ready for another 90 minutes so quickly, Mauricio told us: “We need to be clever, to rest and prepare for the game to be in the best condition.
“We train on Sunday but not too much because that’s impossible.
“We need to rest, to look at video clips about where we need to improve our game and clips on Watford. It’s more visual than on the pitch.”
Below: Mauricio talks to Spurs TV
It’s a tale of two in-form teams at Watford as the Hornets are now five unbeaten after drawing at Chelsea on Boxing Day while we’ve lost just twice in the Premier League all season and have beaten Southampton and Norwich in our last two.
Mauricio also knows Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores well from their time in Spain - Mauricio played for and managed Espanyol while Flores played for Valencia, Real Madrid and Real Zaragoza before spells in charge of Real Madrid youth, Getafe, Valencia and Atletico Madrid.
“Watford show very good quality, good players and they work as a team,” he added.
“The work Quique Sanchez Flores and his staff have done has been fantastic. We know them well. We have a good relationship.”
