Swansea v Spurs - Mauricio's preview

Fri 16 March 2018, 14:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino points to our matches against Newport and Rochdale as he suggests the FA Cup is 'completely different' as we prepare to take on Swansea in the quarter-finals on Saturday (12.15pm).

We travelled to the Liberty Stadium in similar circumstances as recently as 2 January - Harry Kane could only make the bench after recovering from illness - and secured a 2-0 win.

Swansea have been revitalised under the leadership of new boss Carlos Carvalhal, losing just twice in 16 games and taking the scalps of Liverpool, Arsenal and high-flying Burnley on home soil.

"Every game has been tough, just look at Newport and Rochdale, we needed replays to go through," said Mauricio.

"The competition is different to the Premier League. Swansea are fighting for survival in the Premier League, Carlos Carvalhal has done a great job and it will be tough again.

"We expect a great atmosphere and Swansea will be motivated to go to the semi-final, like us.

"It would be fantastic for the players, for us and for the fans to be involved in the semi-final but we need to understand that first of all, we need to beat Swansea.

"I'm always positive and we fo there to win."
