Having drawn 2-2 in Sunday’s FA Cup third round tie, the teams are back at the Lane for a key Premier League fixture as second place plays fourth tonight (8pm).

We’ll then meet again in the FA Cup replay at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday week (January 20, 7.45pm).

“It’s a busy period but the players are very motivated, good energy, fresh and very focused for this game,” said Mauricio. “It’s a good challenge to play three games against Leicester. It’s an exciting period for us.”

Mauricio on training in such a busy schedule…
“As a club, we always play in European competition, Premier League and FA Cup. It’s always difficult to manage but with the experience of last season and this season so far we’ve managed to handle the training sessions and the players are in a good way in terms of the level of physical condition, psychological condition and tactically.”

Mauricio on if the players prefer matches anyway…

“I think so. If not, it’s tough to train all week without games! The players want to play, want to compete and it’s a tough period now after Christmas, we have another tough game against Leicester but we have a strong squad and it’s good for all the players to feel involved.”

Mauricio on if this game will be much different to the FA Cup tie…
“You can play with the same players and the same teams but all games are different, with different circumstances. It’s true the basics are the same but some aspects will be different.”

Mauricio on Leicester…
“We need to give them credit because they are a team that not only defends deep but plays well, they believe, they are strong and run a lot. They deserve full credit and a lot of praise because their season has been fantastic so far.”

Finally, Mauricio on Dele Alli’s new deal…
“It’s good for us, good for him, fantastic news. We’re delighted he’s extended his contract. He’ll keep working hard and keep his feet on the ground. He’s only been with us for six months but he’s showed big potential and quality to play for us in the Premier League. We’re delighted with him and the way he’s performed. He’s very young but he shows real maturity and consistency. It’s been a fantastic period for him and we hope the future is just as bright.”
