Mauricio Pochettino has called for more aggression as we face a crucial match against Newcastle United in the Premier League at Wembley tonight (8pm).

The race for Champions League qualification has gone to the final week of the season and we know that wins against Newcastle and Leicester City in the season's finale on Sunday (Wembley, 3pm) will see us leapfrog over Liverpool into third place and hold off Chelsea in fifth.

The disappointment was tangible after a 1-0 defeat at West Brom on Saturday but Chelsea's win against Liverpool on Sunday means we can still take third with two wins this week.

"The most important thing is that we need to be more aggressive, show ambition and be desperate to score goals and win the game," said Mauricio.

"That was the disappointment after West Brom. We were better, we dominated and (we think) in the next action, the goal will arrive." In football, you have to be focused and aggressive and we need to show that from the first ball, to go for the game and the result and win. That is the aspect we need to be sure we’re going to give."

Newcastle arrive at Wembley a long time safe from relegation fears and sitting 10th on 41 points.

However, they've also lost their last three games against Everton, West Brom and Watford. "They've had a fantastic season and Rafa is doing a fantastic job there," added Mauricio. "For me, (for Newcastle) to be safe before the last few games of the season, it's a massive success."
