'Progressing well' - Mauricio on Lamela and Rose

There is light at the end of the tunnel for Erik Lamela and Danny Rose.

The pair have started reintegrating into first team training after lengthy spells on the sidelines.

It's almost a year since Erik last appeared for the first team at Liverpool in the League Cup. He's been laid low by hip problems since.

Meanwhile, Danny hasn't featured since damaging his knee at Sunderland on January 31.

Mauricio reported on Friday: "They are progressing well and we’re so happy with them.

"They are integrated back in with the first team in some exercises. They are still not fully integrated, that’s important, but they are doing well and we hope in the next few weeks they can be integrated and after that, available for selection. That is so important for the team.

"It’s nearly one year for Erik and Danny the same. It’s a long, long time away. It’s difficult for them but they are doing well.

"The staff have done a fantastic job giving support in all that time, also so important. We hope in the next few weeks they can be ready to be available again and help the team."
