Matty out for 10 days

Posted on 7 October 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Matthew Etherington is expected to be out for about 10 days after turning his ankle in training.

The speedy winger was a surprise omission from Sunday's 16 at Ewood Park but Glenn Hoddle later revealed that he had picked up an injury on Thursday.

Glenn reported: "Matty turned his ankle over on Thursday and just felt it wasn't good enough. He'll be out for 10 days or so, so that's a bit of a blow for us."

However, Matt's injury offered Milenko Acimovic a chance to shine on the left flank and the Slovenian star impressed - Teddy Sheringham said it was his best game for the club so far.

Skipper Teddy said: "I thought Milo was outstanding, his best game yet. It's a difficult place to come and play as a left winger.

"He worked hard and it wasn't just about his natural ability on the ball, that's what it takes to win away from home."

Glenn added: "Milo came in and did well for us down that left-hand side and proved it's another position he can play for us."
